In both written language and spoken language, we sometimes use differentwords in order to express the same thing. For instance, we sometimes use "candidacy" and "running in an election" as the same meaning. This causes that extracting semantically similar documents and event tracking are difficult. In order to solve the problem, we have to identify the words which are semantically similar to each other accurately. In this paper, we propose a method to extract the words which are semantically similar to each other accurately. Using the method, we extracted similar word pairs accurately on newspaper articles. We also extracted news articles which are related to a news article. Using similar word pair list by the method, we obtained better results than the results without similar word pair list. The results suggest that the method is useful for extracting related document, text tracking and so on.
