We propose an approach to system control based on a formal language representation of fundamental control aspects. A formal grammar was defined to represent system control parameters and actions. Overall system behavior is mapped into a set of graphs and the associated language constructs. The real-time system control is accomplished by graph traversal and by the parsing and evaluation of the language constructs. By using the proposed method we obtained system control mechanism with a high degree of extensibility and flexibility.
