This paper describes the advantages and difficulties of a German Speech Synthesis system that concatenates non- parametric time domain units similar to demisyllables. Problems arise when transitions not contained in the inventory must be generated by manipulation of existing units. A proposal for a unit inventory suitable for German is made.
