This paper proposes a methodology to compare the behaviour of acoustic phonetic decoders. We define a norm which allows an overall comparison of decoders providing lattices of very different size. For a more precised analysis, we display curves which draw the evolution of the number of errors with the number of selected pathes in the lattice.
